Rogers Phone:
Rogers Wireless operates in a big neighborhood. It operates
a network that reaches 94% of Canada's population and
provides mobile phone service to nearly 6.2 million
customers thanks to its acquisition in 2004 of Montreal-based
Microcell Telecommunications. The deal, valued at $1.08
billion, has created Canada's leading wireless carrier.
Rogers Wireless has integrated Microcell's Fido brand
name into its own. Rogers Wireless, which also offers
one-way messaging and wireless data services, once operated
as Rogers AT&T Wireless but dropped the AT&T
brand in 2004. Rogers Communications has taken full
control of
Rogers
Wireless CA and
has taken the formerly public company private.
Rogers Wireless has since totally revamped
the company's policies raising many prices to meet and
compete with other wireless carriers in Canada.[neutrality
disputed] They have also changed employee benefits like
employee discounts and vacation benefits. Rogers has
expanded the discount to include Rogers Services, such
as Rogers Phone, Rogers Video and Rogers Wireless as
well as the ordinary discounts they receive with the
Fido Brand.
